Yeah! WW Day!

putting on shoes right now (well not RIGHT now, I'm typing) and then pulling the tarp over the trailer and connecting to car. I hope. I'm as strong as I am, it will have to be good enough. Woot! Maybe anticipation can fuel it, heh?

I will make a cherry pie...and other last minute tasks

I'm hauling stuff to the trailer and look over at the cherry tree and realize there is no way in god's green earth I cannot harvest some of this bounty. Not a huge amount this year but we have picked enough tonight for a small pie or crisp. A crumble.  Plus the other last minute things I have to do tonight, like wash undies and print off things and maybe finish cutting out a dress as a fidget.

Edwin used that phrase at me and it fits. A small project I can do with my hands when I am sitting still. Sewing is pretty traditional.

Since this blog is for everyone but mostly so my mother can keep track of me; Mom, I'm in Boscobel, WI this weekend, at WW. I'm fighting, and retaining, and spending time at some A&S activities but mostly fighting. In the evening, I will be fidgetting and also walking about talking to people. I'm going to be looking for a fire pan and a viking skillet. The best thing is taht on Friday, Sir Roisin takes me on as a Man at Arms. (still astonished about that). She asked me if I knew what I was getting into. I do. and I don't. How can one really know how much one is capable of until someone else tests me?

And leaving the philosophy until I wake up at 3 am again. Now for cherry pie.

Eating breakfast

I'm at work, just not technically on the desk yet. I'm eating two nectarines, which I bought in a big bag and told myself this time, I'm not wasting food. So I'm having to eat these final ones two at a time and since they are just perfect today, that's OK. I don't feel so greedy, just thrifty. There are three left; we will see about tomorrow.

I'm trying to eat more fruits and vegies. And less highly processed foods but the home-made french loaf pizza of last night was very, very good.  walked into the house to smell it coming out of the oven and about hugged Van in gratitude. Burnt my mouth on it.

It is cold and rainy today. Hope that switches around as this is the big camping weekend of Warriors and Warlords. Going to be a blast. I talked w Roisin last night, and Lothar and his lady are feeding us, really well and cheaply. That's kind and generous of them and I'm glad to take part in that plan. And if I'm off doing things, I can always fall back on the food I'm bringing. We will see.

Not much to say today. Just going to get busy on the day here in a bit; got some meeting stuff to get out today since I'm gone the rest of the week. Um...there's some other things in my tickets. Anyway, updates as they roll out.

Not feeling well at all

Bit dizzy and guts have been churning most of the day to the point I didn't have more than 1.1 fights today; realized chasing Iggy around that it wasn't going to work. I was more interested in burping or maybe barfing, truth be told. Very disappointing. I'm wondering if it is the yeast bread, kicking off the colitis. I don't care if the doctors say there is no connection; I think bread is not good for me. Anyway, been lazy since I got home.

I won't be doing the sponge at WW, I don't think. I will be carefully behaving myself between now and then, even so.

Other than that whine, practice was good. More than enough fighting for everyone who came out and kitted up. Started at 1 and it was after 5 before I headed home.

Comfy wine to smooth out the day

I had a really good day. Started with sleeping in, then that painting trip to Rachel's home, then groceries. That was all in a previous post.

The rest of the day included working some more on the painting of my trunk, some weeding, that laundry, getting the cake baked and iced, fixing shrimp for dinner, and that run. Not as much running today but I'm running in the heat of the day.

I also started a sponge, with commercial yeast. I'm feeding it mostly whole wheat flour and sugar with a bit of oatmeal from when I scrape the last bit of batter back into the sponge bowl. I'm going to try something at WW - fixing yeast-raised oatcakes of an evening to go with a bit of cheese and meat if I have it, some fruit, maybe an onion. I like onions if they are the washington sweets, lol. Pickles. Did they cultivate pickles in ireland in the 900's? Wikipedia confirms they are an old world food, at least. Anyway, if I can borrow a corner of someone's fire of an evening, I will bake up a batch of oatcakes, partly to just see how it would have been as a campfood. How I like them, day after day. Simple to fix, only need the sponge and the bag of oat and wheat flour. Fat to ease the turning of them.

So I'm getting a shower and coming back to this Missouri wine. And then another blog post to be written!
