Internet down

The internet, phone and cable went down here at the house about 3 pm; when Van called it in, the lines were busy. About 20 minutes ago I tried calling again and the local number was 'on behalf of the customer, this number is temporarily disabled.' Interesting way to run a help desk line. Can I do that?

Ginny and I were working on the gingerbread people until she and Van left to get her car from the shop. We bought her a membership into Triple-A for safety's sake.

Gin walked into the living room just now to see Van and I both on our laptops. She said it was like walking into a room of her college friends. heh.

Car update

Ginny's car is going to be repaired. Total replacement of alll the old belts and stuff that has cracked, replacement of antifreeze from minor but vital hose that broke, and then they go pick it back up this afternoon. it is a 1994 Ford Taurus that had not been driven a lot the last few years, and slowly we are replacing various pieces, lol.

She's out walking her dog and Alice came to the top of the steps almost immediately, crying and carrying on about being ignored and abandoned. Van just went down to make sure that Boo had not fallen down a well; it was that sort of crying. He's fine.

I'm going to go beat on my armor, try out the new anvil finallly.

The car is in the shop, being checked out. It was a lower hose. Should get a call here in a bit.

Walking Bomber

It was cold with the wind blowing, and slippery, but we made it home safely.

Ginny's car broke down last night; antifreeze fumes everywhere and drippings underneath the vehicle. Van went and rescued her. So today we are going out to see if Van can easily fix it or if we have to get it towed somewhere. Well, just told that I don't need to go; I can stay and walk the dog, do stuff around the house here.

what to do, what to do...

Totally slept in, wasting huge parts of the day here, but I would have wasted them w my nose in a book if I'd gotten up.  I need to wash fighting clothes, shower, clean up my workroom, so see a house, eat, hopefully fight. But for now, I'm sitting in the basement, playing with the cats. Boo has gone into a depression, i think, w the dog keeping him from coming upstairs as much.

Well been spending some time w Mike on IM, troubleshooting a problem. Interesting. Now the cats are asleep beside me. I've not got any more coffee, either, and hte shower went off about 10 minutes ago.

turkey alfredo for supper

Ginny and I went to Avatar at noon, after taking sweaters back to JCPenneys and then having a quick chance to go through the sale racks. We just missed the crowds of people coming in to exchange, to get rid of gift cards. That was nice.

She was hoping to hang out with some friends tonight and that fell through. So when she wakes up, we are going to make cookies and eat and maybe watch Tank Girl.

I am finally convinced that the Citalopram is messing with any chance i have to feel the alcohol; even at Christmas when everyone was feeling good from the drinking, i was like 'meh' cause it just wasn't happening. meh. So I won't drink. Waste of booze. And I guess I'm just pissed about it.

So...off to try on the two new pant suits I got, and then to make dinner.

Awake since five

reading, mostly. Drinking coffee. Wishing there was bacon. I'm going to run the last couple boxes of xmas trash....oops. There's the truck now. looks like I'm too late. oh well. I've a couple of boxes of paper trash for next week, then.

I'm going to shower then, and try on my new sweaters and decide if I will keep them. Van bought everyone high-necked sweaters even though none of us usually wear them. I will sometimes wear a mock-turtleneck but only if it has a zipper to loosen the throat.

And yes, movie at noon.
