To live consciously and courageously, to resonate with love and compassion, to awaken the great spirits within others, and to leave this world in peace. To live consciously, optimistically and courageously, to inspire other people to achieve their own missions in life, to resonate with love and compassion, to pay it forward, and to leave this world in peace.
I'll get this right eventually. <grin> I was talking to a friend tonight and I've forgotten the exact phrase he used but in essence he feels the world is a selfish place and most people do not care about others. Maybe this is true; seems like it more and more each day. So many people are interested in what they can get from someone else but not in offering, freely, to help anyone else. The 'What's in it for me?"mentality. But I believe we make these connections called relationships and we have a debt of honor to compassionately, consciously support each other.
A relationship does not have to be one of loving or liking but can be as casual as the temporary one with the cashier ringing up my dinner or as socially passionate as the "Take Back the Night" teams who come together for a certain purpose and disband afterwards.
More later - it's bed time!

I went to Albert Lea today to help with a demo at an Arts in the Park event. Wow - I got to talk to so many people, some of who were just making nice but I think a small number were actually interested. Can these folks find the time to add one more activity into their lives? Can we ask them to substitute the Society for one of their maybe not-so-intriguing activities already there? Darn straight I can! And did. Invited a lot of people to get into the website and look at us. Come to a meeting or an event and get to know us better.
Of course, I also know I've committed to personally welcoming anyone who says 'I saw you at the Albert Lea arts thing' and assuring that they feel welcome. Initially, especially, but maybe even longer than that as long as they aren't using me as a crutch.
Found out that Sasuke is an awesome armourer. I positively lusted after the fingerless gauntlets he uses for demonstration - he's got a two year waiting list though. Ouch. Fortunately he's taken an apprentice, Mike. Mike is going to make me a set. Mild steel hour-glass mitten type, and as an apprentice, closely watched over by his mentor. So, I'll get a quote from him later, I'll get a time frame for him later, he's got my number and will be in touch - but I got his cause I want to drag him and Sasuke onto the practice field and teach them to use that pretty armour they've been producing. Hehehe. This is going to be fun.

Go look at the Family Album to see what it is I freaked out over last night. Van told me about this huge hornet's nest right by my side of the driveway and yeah - it's as big as a football. Ish.
Fighter practice in the Cities last night was a blast. I got complimented on improvements I've made to my shield work, got a great bit of advice from Edwin on the subject, got a goodly amount of fighting in. It was great. Terry has asked for a impromptu practice on Thursday and then I'll be back out there on Sunday. Woot!
In the Family Photo Album. And since I'm on a new laptop - may have to add whatever is lurking in the files of this one. Or maybe not...I've just got a couple I've snagged from other resources.
Addeda new trick to the workout routine! After my pellwork today, I grabbed the splitting maul and worked a couple of logs into smaller pieces. That was good, sweaty but productive fun.Yeah, really, it was.
One of the half-logs is just perfect for turning into a stool, with the right drill and a bit of work with a branch to make legs. So now I've another project...
I decided to rejoin the online South Beach Diet program and, hey, back in 2004 was the last time I tried this. How time flies. Anyway, the heartbreak is that I've lost only two pounds in all that time. Seriously, I know I've modified alot and muscle weighs more and blah, blah, blah. I don't need to hear that again. I need to loose some serious weight.
I've a huge pot of roast and tomatoes and stuff cooking. This dish started a couple of weeks ago when I realized I couldn't eat all the tomatoes fast enough so I quickly diced up some onion, celery and peppers and sauted them while chopping up those tomatoes. Into the crock pot with the whole mess! Then, to freezer to a point I had some time. Yesterday, got a rump roast crocked down into that nice tomatoey-goodness. Today, adding some more allowed vegies and leaving the lid off so it reduces a bit. Lunch for the week? We will see.
So this is a day to see how much I can get done. Be blogging off and on all day.
