    I burnt the bacon...

But just the last pan. LOL. So most of two pounds of bacon is ready to be eaten at Ages. I made a mushroom and onion pie and a hamburger tart - both period recipes except the hamburger tart called for minced up beef and game and the like. hehe. I cheated a bit. Oh, and they didn't have coffee but I'm bringing mine. No way I'm not having that with me. I've a perculator pot to use this year. Yeah Garage Sales! I've used it for coffee the last three days- as long as I let it perc long enough, excellent coffee.

I'd really like a small shelf-y thing to set up in my tent to act as a kitchen for bowls and pots and the like. My chest-o-spices. Hummm...shopping! Really only got two days to do that though. May just buzz through Menards and see what I can find tomorrow.

Ages of War is going to be a blast. I am really looking forward to the drill work and fighting. I've worked hard this winter in strengthening friendships and making new ones and will be good to spend some time hanging out. It's the start of a busy war season - I've most of June on the road or on the battlefield. Hope SELCO can survive without me! Mike has already told me that they can't but lol, that's the way it goes.

    Raining, Pouring

It's unexpected things I'm talking about today.

Sunday, I got home from a wonderful event to find my parked car had been hit. So I'm dealing with that. It's minor and the woman left a note so the car being in the shop for a week is dealable.

Yesterday, we realized there was a minor drip coming from one of our bathrooms; being on the top floor, the water affects everything below it. I spent the morning cleaning that up and dealing with a bunch of soggy papers while waiting for the plumber. He's got to come back today.

Last night Boo-Bear, my white cuddly cat, did not come up to sleep with me unlike the other two. I found him in pain on the couch I'd last seen him on with a newly opened abscess in his back. Right on the spine. Such growling and hissing when I tried to clean it! The vet is going to have to sedate him, I'm thinking.

All this will pass and there will be new things coming down the river at me, I know this. Just a bit of narking about it all while I'm drinking the morning coffee, before I hit the road for a bit of a run. Cause not going to work this morning...gonna get to see both the plumber and vet this morning, I'm thinking!

    It's a beautiful thing...

    1. A sharp hoe is a beautiful thing. I've an older hoe that was bought at an estate sale and I've an affinity for such things. Physical things that move to a new owner and continue. Bought a metal file at a garage sale and used that to sharpen it tonight - cuts through dandilions and small tree-sprouts like it did when I brought it home.

    2. Beer is a beautiful thing, especially when drunk with friends. We were celebrating an exciting Crown Tourney last night, and I was drinking Harp Beer.

    3. New gauntlets are a beautiful thing - wow. I can't wait to learn to use them properly. The right cuff was soaked and is drying in its new shape now. Got to pad some strategic areas and then, lol, sew point spots onto my current fighting tunic so I can make sure the elbows stay in place. I'd no idea they were sliding so much...

    4. Being a mom is a beautiful thing. Isaiah called me on his way to work and Ginny shortly after her own work. I miss seeing both of them; even though Isaiah is in the area, he's busy and I'm busy... I should call them both more. Heh. Or convince them both to give me their IM identities.

It's been a good weekend. I and some shire friends were in Korsvag, or Fargo SD to most of you, attending the Spring Crown Tourney. What a good time! Sharing, catching up with people, being there to support Lyulf and Niklos and Jacques as they fought for the privilege of placing their respective ladies on the Griffin Throne. I realized I'm watching the fighting with a different mindset these days.

Almost impossible to work the workouts in...

My name is Jonya and last workout was Saturday.

It is very hard to figure out when to do these weight sessions, or to work in the aerobic workouts. Sunday was heavy practice. Monday I did a short walk in the morning. Tuesday was Nordskogen heavy practice. Tonight was business meeting. Tomorrow is heavy practice here again. I guess I'll just have to come home from heavy practice and run, or lift weights. Something.

I have been asked to interview at a job I'm very interested in- yes, Mom, I'll call you tomorrow and tell you about it. Now that the interview is set, now that I got one. It's pretty neat but I don't want to say too much in this public venue. Oh, I've told my supervisors and all.

I'm working on sewing gold compass roses on a black, naalbinded and felted belt. Yeppers, I got the colors transposed. Looks neat. I'll do them the right color over the edging of the neckline and all. Oh! hey. That's my embroidery trim I'm going to work on. Hand-done compass roses, maybe with the celtic knotwork on either side of the trim. Great. That's decided.

Hum... there has got to be more to say. But I'm tired...later!! I'm for bed.
