    Angst

I didn't even blink at my own birthday...but my son's 23rd is coming up and I'm sorta weirded out. Or maybe it's this cold I'm coming down with.

    Wedding pics

I am adding the wedding pictures to my Flick'r account - I can do them in batches!  May have to go ahead and buy an account to capture them all, though. Or, what a thought, weed.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonya/ and there are photos through the ceremony. Eventually.

    Tent!

Oh, and my tent is here!  Too wet to set it up yet but Military History Days Can Not be the first time up...

    What a wild day yesterday!

I went to SUNrise, an SCA event for classes and learning and other things of Arts & Sciences. There were seven tracks during the day and I think we had...seven sessions? Yeah. 49 possible classes for people to attend.

My first class was one I taught. 23 years ago, when I was pregnant with Isaiah, I was a quilter and did stuff all quilty, learned lots of stuff. One was this Italian quilting called trapunto and I did create amongst other pieces a lovely quilt for him. At the time, sources told me it was created in Italy and the art was improved by us Americans. Well, not quite true but I believed it at the time. When Rachel announced the theme for this year's Ages of War, I decided to reinvestate the artform. And I am working on one of the panels from the Tristram quilt now as an entry into the competition.

Anyway, that is what my first class is about. I had six people, explained it was very much an intro class that might or might not catch their interest, and off we went.

I took in Cadwallen's 14th Century Armor class which was a whole lot of information and I found it interesting to realize how the size of the forge furnaces determined what was available for armor making. Sir Tom's Polearm class 101 was good; I took a couple of drilling notes. 201 started good but then Liz and Jason showed up and I hung out with them for a bit. I was totally convoluted about what to attend next; I could not face sitting inside though. I was hot and knew I'd be leaving early to prep for my last class. So instead of Sir Tristan's How to Teach Fighting, I watched a bit of Stephen and Niklos's How to Watch Fighting. Interesting that they were back to back, lol. But yes, left at 4:10 to prep.

Good thing, too! I had six people in that class too and it was a good one.

Food...The lunch was soup and cheese and eggs an bread and fruit. Dinner was desert. Wow. Lovely stuff throughout the day.

After cleanup, we went to Aig and Fulke's place. I didn't stay long as the week has been long and tense and I just crashed finally. Couldn' take it any more. Still sitting here tired! Oh, well. Today has its own challenges. I'm going to finish this coffee and go tackle them!

Bit more wedding info and pics

Jason and Liz are married. They are a very cute couple. Calm, poised, cheerful, talking to Liz_067 everyone, they stole hearts and made some of us cry.

The small number of us gathered in the church had been together the night before at LIz's home. The gals had a dinner and drinks out, the guys stayed home and talked-talked-talked. The parents had visited and then ran away to visit in the Payne's home. After a short ceremony with pictures, the couple ran to get copies at the courthouse for Jason to take with him while the rest of us hung out at Jason and LIz's home. Talked a lot. Everyone got back together at Green Mill for a dinner and then we let the bride and groom have some time to themselves while some people went home and some people watched a SG1 dvd at

    Anplica's 's home.

I'm taking a nap. I'll get up later and finish prepping for tomorrow. But for now, here is a picture!

Mr. and Mrs. Iggy have left the building....

They tried to run away from us but they just went home so we followed them. I am checking email cause of the migration on Sunday I need to do; nothing surprising there. So heading back to the chatter before dinner.

    Recapping yesterday...

What a whirlwind!  It starts with me oversleeping and having to push to get out of the motel room and over to conference with no breakfast. Then partway into the first session, I loose a contact and my solution is in my car, two blocks away.

    East Kingdom Librarian at PLA

I'm at the Public Library Association Convention this week, here in Minneapolis. Apollonia Voss is a librarian from York County, Pennsylvania, here for the conference. She's supervising the work of five branches in her system. Very nice woman; been playing for about 11 years, has some great stories, offered to share space at Pensic with us. Us being me and Anplica. We had a great meal, talking and comparing and offering suggestions about this and that, like households and heraldry stuff. She sorta talks it. Anplica does too. I just nod and look wise.

Anyway, Apollonia was going to Nordskogen's meeting tonight and is going to try to get to SUN this weekend. I think that's going to be great to see her again!

I got my workout in today, both walking and then I did lift weights. Overate though at dinner...tapas. It was very much like an SCA meal with 8 tiny courses of everything yummy BUT the squid and the crawfish-like shrimp. Blah. The last still had their eyes on. And were in a red sauce like in blood.

    PLA personal posting

Hi! Some of this will end up on the SELCO blog but mostly I am going to be posting chatty stuff here and professional and session articles there. Funny thing to tell you is that I just fixed a Horizon problem...I don't know if I should blog that though on the SELCO blog.

I came early to try to sneak into a precon but they will not let you in if you've not preregged. Sad. There are empty chairs in the one i wanted to go to, on management. So I fixed a horizon problem, checked work email and am not going to go talk to people.

The Public Library Association's Annual Conference is here in Minneapolis so I am going to make the most of my chances to meet people!

    Nice drink

My friend Anplica gave me a pint of coffee cordial for my birthday. I realized tonight that the best drink ever is two shots of whole milk to one shot of this cordial. Better is the second one. hehe.

I've a bit of a buzz...so I'm watching Serenity again and going to capture a bit of personal philosophy while I'm at it.
