Headache...and spear college

drinking my morning coffee, cursing the vodka bottle. Had a drink at sorta like 9 last night, a short one, and that should not have done this. Maybe it's the pressure systems going through.

So recap of Sunday which I didn't get in here last night. I did some house stuff yesterday morning, including finiishing a new fighting tunic that is all linen and pretty. I need to decide if I am going to recycle my existing shoulders or if I'm going to buy new; I've a shiny breastplate I've not ever used cause it is not period for me, but I think this new tunic will cover it and I'm becoming OK wiht that. It sorta looks like this. I went to the storage unit and found this piece plus the two helms I have extra; may be able to loan one out. Well, one belongs to Luce and I'm just been storing it.

 I went up to Sir Tristan's Spear College in the afternoon. I'd hoped to carpool up, saving some money and also getting some fighter talk in which I always enjoy. But since neither planned to armor up and didnt' want to stick around while I did so, I followed two of my shire fighters up there in separate vehicles, getting to watch them animately talk all the way up and wishing I'd said screw the armored up time and tucked myself into the back seat. I like these guys, I like fighter talk, and I feel I cheated myself of some time with my own people. I had the choice. I'm glad I chose the armor time cause I personally felt I did OK. That was the first time I had fought with a spear in armor; first sparring I'd done. Manipulating the body around is going to be different with this 9 foot thing - the only attacking edge being at one end so the rest of it is slim defense, indeed -  right now. I have to move the feet a lot more, swing my body more. I'm thinking I need to practice running backwards in armor... I talk a bit more about the techniques we covered in my fighting journal so not going to repeat all the details here. (Mom, I did have a good time, too, if you read that journal and become concerned. (grin) )

Today I hope to get approved for my loan for the car. Curious what they are going to offer me for my Vue, too. And then work...I guess I need to go get ready for that.
