Anplica and I drove over on Friday evening and stayed at her parent's home, which is about 30 minutes from site. Enjoyed that; good company and conversation and comfortable home.
Got to SUN about 8:15 and trolled in. Huge conversation pit in the foyer. Eventually found the library room where the shoe class that Sir Daffyd was holding - now I really want shoes. And I think I can make them. Baroness Kateryn's Retaining Class was reassuring; good information. I also had a lot of conversations with people, and yes, did come up with a long list of things to do. Emails to send, discussions to start online to continue the conversations held in my A&S 50 Challenge MeetUp. There was seven of us in there and we enjoyed getting together and having a chance to talk to each other.
Their Majesties' Court was awesomely funny. HM Siegfried said he had negotiated with Her Majesty to have one round of Court-Schtick was all...not so much. They did a great job with it all, though. Better people will report on it, I'm sure, but my favorites was the putting of Gabriel on vigil for Pelican - he's leaving the kingdom so they were teasing him about branding him, tatooing him, bronzing him.... And Ivan was put on vigil for his Laurel. His Laurel started the whole bit by asking the Crown to find him a new Laurel as she was not as active as she had been; Elizabeth and Siegfried called up all the Laurels and asked them to introduce themselves so Ivan could choose a new one. Of course it was all the set up for putting him on vigil. Well done. I also got to sit next to Sir Roisin and get some more training in bad peerage. I like that training...
I thought it was a good event. And I did some stuff maybe useful to the Kingdom.
Dinner was about 20-25 of us at a prime rib buffet. We must have eaten a cow between the lot of us. And there was a cool hotdish with some sort of shrimp in it that was just wonderful; when I went back for more, it had been replaced with a fresh hot dish of tuna! cheat! Also there was no desert. So some of them were having more meat for desert and I had another coffee.
Drove home and was in by 1:30. An and I talked all the way back, mostly, although I expected her to doze a bit more than the 20 minutes she napped after LaCrosse. Boring part of the journey anyway.
So pell work and work out today. Checking of fighting clothes. humm...yeah, tonight is the checking over of legs. Looking forward to practice.
